How to get Grave Dust in Diablo 4

Grave Dust is used in a wide variety of crafting recipes in Diablo 4. From healing potion upgrades to elixirs, players might need more Grave Dust throughout their playthrough than they originally thought. If this is the case, then players will need to know exactly how and where to get their hands on the material in Sanctuary.

The in-game description for Grave Dust reads “Found in the bodies, bones, or cerements of the undead.” So, by that description, all you need to do to get Grave Dust is kill some undead creatures and you will be all set. While that is true in theory, Grave Dust doesn’t drop as frequently as many players would like.

Because of this, Grave Dust will need to be farmed if players want to get the material quickly in a short amount of time. Luckily, I know the best farming method to get your hands on dozens of Grave Dust in a short amount of time.

For starters, if you go through the main story of Diablo 4 naturally, you are sure to pick up plenty of Grave Dust. However, if you need a lot of it for one specific task, then you will want to head to the town of Menestad in Fractured Peaks.

Just to the west of Menestad, in an area called The Pallid Grave, you will find a rare NPC called the Rotsplinter. This enemy only spawns at night, but they drop five total Grave Dust upon killing them. Rotsplinter has an army of spiders and is a Poison and Plaguebearer specialist, meaning you will want to keep your distance from it.

If you want to repeatedly kill the Rotsplinter, simply fast travel to Menestad after killing it once and then return to its area. It will have respawned, allowing you to kill it over and over until the night turns to day.

During the day, you can travel to the very western side of Dry Steppes and find a rare enemy called Alumn. Alumn drops one Grave Dust, along with one Demon’s Heart and Paletongue upon its death. You can farm Alumn over and over no matter what time of day.
